Congratulations! You did it. You’ve achieved your dream of moving to Florida and lived to tell the tale! Since you’re here, I’m hoping you’re ready to share your Florida Survival tips to help others become Florida Fluent.
Here’s our story. My partner and I moved our three children, two cats and two dogs down here in May of 2005. I was shocked at how foreign everything seemed to be. I asked myself, How could living in another state within the US be so different?
It’s not like I was a stranger to moving. I’ve moved more than a dozen times prior to moving down here. I had even moved between states. I had no reason to suspect that moving to Florida would be any different.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. It turns out living in Florida is very different than living “up north.” You already know that if you’re originally from a northern state.

So I decided to write a book, “Florida Fluent – What you need to know when moving to Florida.”
My original plan was that I was going to share all the things my partner and I had learned. Then, as I began talking to other people, I found out they had really great tips to share as well. So now it’s become a community effort.
If you’ve got a tip you’d like to share in the book, this is your chance. Simply fill out the form below. You can choose how you want to be credited (if at all).
